Current religions already appear very similar on a spiritual level. Globalisation will lead to a universal but also customised religion/spiritual life. We need to establish an optimal tolerant synthesis in religions from the male dominated West (progress, efficiency), the East (balance, Yin and Yang), women (care, harmony, sustainability) and nature (Native Americans, Aboriginals, Africans, etc.): We are part of the Web of Life, we need integration with nature. Live in balance with nature, not at the expense of nature. The world should not come into a catastrophic turmoil (movie Koyoonisqatsi, music by Philip Glass) and we can still prevent global heating, if we become aware of our potential to change ourselves and our environment.
The Mystics already knew: God is identical with Life. One is All. All is One. God is All. Everybody (humans and nature) belongs to the Web of Life and is connected. The driving force of the Universe is attraction (Love).
Individual lifes are spirals to enlightment. A human shall move upwards if he/she is able to learn the lessons to be learnt. A human will get new chances during his current or may be next lifes to learn the lessons.
The three basic principles of Life are efficacy, adaptation and sustainability
Creation or Evolution? Does time exist? The Present only exists. The physicists claim that before the Big Bang (the scientific moment of Creation?) there was no time. The Big Bang (= creation of the present universe) was supposingly 14,000,000,000 years ago. Creation, however, is an ongoing evolutionary process in the Present, if time does not exist. It only exists in our mind. Evolution is looking back at the perceived sequence of creation in the past.
Hell and Heaven? One can create or experience his own Hell or Heaven in the Now. Religious warnings were aimed to prevent hell in the current life, not in the hereafter. Religious promises are aimed at restoring heaven or the Paradise on earth
Difference in religious mores have evolved because of local adaptation needs to natural selection/the drive towards optimisation/perfection:
- No sex before marriage: prevention of venereal diseases
- Cover skin (UV-B protection): Prevention of skin cancer, folic acid reduction (prevention of birth defects, effect on male sperm production
- Do not cover skin: Prevent overheating (Pygmees, Papuas), prevent vitamin. D deficiency
- Cover hair: hygienic measure during cooking, protection against sun
- Kosher, halal meals: Prevention of infection (viruses like hepatitis, parasites), respect for life
- Cannibalism (Azteks, tropical jungle): Need to survive in a low protein supply environment
- Eat fish: Prevention of aggression, behavioural disorders like ADHD
- Eat no pork: -Economic loss: pork meat spoils rapidly
-Health: Undercooking pork was a vehicle for deadly parasites,
- No alcohol: Alcohol is a known hard drug and causes brain and liver damage. Youngsters are very susceptible to brain damage
- Carnaval (Celebration of upcoming six weeks of starvation, imposed in Roman times), Ramadan: stocks started to run out at the end of winter/season until the new crops arrived
- Beards: Competitive advantage in dry environments. No water spilled with shaving, shaving wounds could not be sufficiently cleaned and could lead to (serious) infections, abscesses.
- Circumcision: hygiene, reduced chance of infecting partner, current measure to reduce HIV in Africa
- Intelligence: 23% of the genes for intelligence are located on the X-chromosomes (competitive advantage for the Jews because of the requirement to stay Jew you had to have a Jewish mother)
Mores in religion have created competitive advantage in the past. One has to update, however, if the situation changes. Fundamentalists stick too much to the past. Religions can merge, if people are willing to make compromises. No alcohol in the islam can be replaced by limited alcohol > 18. No gambling in the islam can be replaced by gambling for fun (not for money). No sex before marriage can be replaced by safe sex > 16 or 18. No pork in the islam can be replaced by less frequently meat to safe the environment. No interest in the islam can be replaced by a fixed fair administrative charge on a loan in a society without inflation. No killing without need (Buddhism) respects all Life and the Creation. No drugs can be replaced by by a total ban on cigarettes and a customised acceptable daily drug intake (CADDI next to ADI)) for alcohol and other drugs. No homosexuality can be replaced by a ban on unsafe sex and unequal sexual relations like adults with children ( < 18). Proper education can replace most abortions or forced marriages. Men and women are equal. Races used to be the local optimal adaptative form of homo sapiens. Prenatal diagnosis and the consequence is a choice of the parents. People with handicaps are not inferior but their power to live and love can provide invaluabe lessons to their environment.
The Ten Commandments can be regarded as the Ten Promises (Source: Neale D. Walsch). Guidelines to create Heaven on Earth, in the Present. Life can be so simple and pleasant if you do not do things, which you do not want to be done to yourself.
Most important: Respect the Creation, human, animal, plant and matery. Do not kill unnecessarily or inflict damage to health and nature. Do not waste food and water. Do not damage nature. The current lifestyle of short term indulgence, overconsumption and profit making at the expense of society threatens the entire globe. The Flood was not before Christ, but has started in the 20th century. We can stop it by 2020, if we take action NOW.
We are one people starting of in Africa just minutes on infinity ago. We are part of Earth and we cannot escape from Earth, our best choice is to turn it into Paradise.
